A Low-Pressure Area (LPA) has intensified into a tropical depression and is now named Tropical Depression Ineng, located approximately 925 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of up to 45 km/h and gustiness of up to 55 km/h while slowly moving northward.
It is forecasted to enter the Philippine area of responsibility this afternoon or tomorrow morning. The Southwest Monsoon or “Hangin Habagat” continues to affect the country.
Expect scattered rains in Antique and Aklan with the possibility of isolated rain showers, thunderstorms, and occasional gusty winds in the rest of Western Visayas due to the Southwest Monsoon and localized thunderstorms. Strong winds are expected, and the sea condition will be rough.
A gale warning is still in effect for the seaboards of Antique and Aklan, so small fishing boats are advised not to venture out to sea, and larger sea vessels and coastal residents should remain vigilant.
