All Assistant Secretaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) have submitted their courtesy resignations as part of the agency’s rightsizing efforts.
This move comes in response to Senator Christopher “Bong” Go’s query regarding the significant number of Undersecretaries and Assistant Secretaries within the DSWD.
During the budget hearing, DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian confirmed that they have requested courtesy resignations from all 20 Assistant Secretaries of the agency. These resignations are part of the evaluation process for rightsizing and streamlining operations.
Assistant Secretaries are also required to provide justifications for their continued tenure in their positions.
