The Antique Provincial Government has unveiled a road design aimed at creating a permanent solution to the notorious “killer curve” in Igbucagay, Hamtic, Antique. Governor Rhodora Cadiao is advocating for the implementation of a straight road to prevent what is considered a “treacherous and hazardous” section of the Iloilo-Antique road for motorists and passengers.
Due to the treacherous nature of the road, numerous vehicles have veered off the cliff, resulting in multiple fatalities. According to the governor, during her tenure as the chairperson of the Regional Development Council (RDC) of Western Visayas, she put forward a resolution urging the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to address the safety issues on this particular stretch of the national highway.However, to date, the DPWH has yet to take action regarding the RDC resolution.
