The first shopping mall in Baguio City burned down for an unknown reason on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. The said fire started around 1:00 AM on the third floor of the Maharlika Livelihood Center. It is known that the mentioned mall was built in 1982.
According to the initial report, a security guard saw thick smoke coming from one of the stalls, and it was immediately responded to by members of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), located 300 meters away from the said establishment. Firefighters declared the fire under control by 4:09 AM and fully extinguished by 4:30 AM.
