The 23-year-old farmer has been arrested and detained at the Mambusao Municipal Police Station after being found in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
The arrested individual is identified as Jereil Olog, a resident of Barangay Roxas, Tapaz, Capiz.
It is known that Olog intended to attend a hearing for his case at the Regional Trial Court, Branch 21 in the town of Mambusao when a security guard discovered a firearm in his bag.
During the apprehension, Olog was found to have a caliber 45 pistol with 12 rounds of ammunition and two magazines in his possession.
The said individual is expected to face charges for violating RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and Comelec Resolution No. 10924.
It is also noted that Olog was previously imprisoned in 2022 for charges related to homicide and theft.
