The Land Transportation Office (LTO) aims to resolve the backlog of 179,000 vehicle plates and 13.2 million motorcycle plates in the coming year.
During a budget hearing led by the House Committee on Appropriations, LTO Chief Vigor Mendoza II announced that they have already placed orders for 15 million pairs of plates, which are expected to be delivered promptly.
Mendoza also revealed that their current plate production has reached 32,000 pairs per day or 700,000 pairs per month. This is equivalent to 250,000 pairs of plates per month for motor vehicles and 1 million pairs for motorcycles.
