Gaza City – Hospitals in Gaza are on the brink of a crisis, with medical professionals issuing warnings as essential supplies dwindle to a mere 10% of their capacity. The situation has become increasingly dire, exacerbated by a recent surge in casualties.
Over the past 24 hours, 700 lives have been lost in the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel, marking a grim escalation in the toll of the violence. Mohammed Abu Selmeya, the head of Shifa, Gaza’s largest hospital, emphasized the urgent need for fuel to power generators and sustain crucial hospital operations.
As hostilities persist between Hamas and Israel, 35 hospitals in Gaza have been destroyed due to extensive damage and a severe shortage of fuel. The mounting destruction of healthcare infrastructure raises serious concerns about the region’s ability to meet the escalating medical needs of its population amidst the continuing hostilities.
