ILOILO CITY- The Iloilo Festivals Foundation Inc. (IFFI) has extended invitations to content creators on social media to feature the upcoming 100 Day Countdown to the Iloilo Dinagyang Festival 2024. Among the vloggers they have reached out to is Kalinti by TBON, whose inclusion has recently become a topic of controversy among Ilonggos due to concerns about the vlogger’s role in the event.
Kalinti by TBON is known for producing content that often includes satire and humor, which has led some Ilonggos to question its suitability for participation in the prestigious and religious Dinagyang Festival.
According to Ms. Joyce Clavecillas, Executive Director of IFFI, their initial intention was for the featured vlogger to provide coverage of the countdown event and thereby reach audiences of various backgrounds.

The IFFI believes that Dinagyang, as a celebration for all and in changing times, should also involve social media for promotion and publicity. Therefore, they decided to extend invitations to vloggers.
Despite the recent poster controversy, where the vlogger’s face appeared more prominently than the image of Santo Niño, Clavecillas stated that they acknowledge public feedback and have already discussed the matter with their marketing team.
“Again, it is a learning process for everybody especially social media influencers,” -Clavecillas added.
