The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Iloilo Chapter anticipates a substantial impact on business operations in Iloilo City, especially with the approaching Dinagyang Festival, if the electricity problem is not promptly resolved.
According to Engr. Fulbert Woo, President of PCCI Iloilo Chapter, the shortage of electricity is already taking a toll on tourism and restaurants even before the commencement of the Dinagyang Festival.
Woo emphasized the urgency for power generators and the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) to address the electricity issue through short-term and long-term programs implemented by the authorities.
He expressed hope that a resolution will be reached soon, ensuring a return to normal electricity supply and averting potential disruptions during the Dinagyang Festival. The business community is eagerly awaiting a swift and effective solution to prevent further setbacks and to ensure the success of one of Iloilo City’s most significant cultural celebrations.
