RMN Iloilo 774 Management has issued a statement clarifying that it does not permit Vlogger Pidong Talaron to use the station’s name to advance personal interests or engage in schemes for financial gain.
Talaron, who previously worked at RMN Iloilo as a radio technician and not as a reporter, has been found using the station’s on-air branding “Kasama” and “Radyoman” despite explicit instructions from the management to stop. This branding is typically associated with RMN personnel, and its unauthorized use has raised concerns within the organization.
During his tenure, Talaron was given the opportunity to host the program ‘RMN Harana,’ a music and cultural show. However, the management discontinued his involvement after discovering that Talaron used the platform to settle personal scores and criticize individuals involved in his transactions, including debt collectors.
Furthermore, an attorney representing a local mall reported that Talaron repeatedly highlighted the company’s issues on Facebook, which prompted additional scrutiny.
RMN Iloilo played a crucial role in recovering missing funds intended for orphans in Dingle. These funds, donated by Ilongga-Australian citizen Mae Iborg, were allegedly misappropriated by Talaron. Iborg, who was deeply upset by the situation, reported that Talaron had even threatened her and the children’s guardian when she tried to reclaim the money.
The statement emphasized that the actions of Vlogger Talaron do not reflect the training and culture of RMN Iloilo employees. RMN has a long-standing reputation for supporting and aiding the oppressed, including Barangay Tanods, contrary to Talaron’s behavior.
RMN Iloilo reaffirmed its commitment to serving the public interest, distancing itself from any actions that serve only a few individuals at the expense of many.
