
Security measures are set and ready for the Opening Salvo of Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan this afternoon, according to Ret. Col. Cornelio Salinas, Head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
In an interview with RMN Iloilo, Salinas mentioned that they have coordinated with the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) and Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) to finalize the security plan. Ret. Col. Uldarico Garbanzos is designated to oversee traffic management in the city.
“On the side of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, naplastar na namon ang Site Task group Emergency, Preparedness and Response,” stated Salinas.
The Opening Salvo is scheduled to begin at 3 PM, where nine tribes will perform at the Freedom Grandstand and Iloilo Provincial Capitol. Starting from the Freedom Grandstand, the tribes will proceed through Sunburst Park, JM Basa, Socorro/Plazoleta Gay area, YMCA, and straight to the Capitol.
The event will also feature the opening of lights at the Capitol for the Dinagyang Festival and a Foam Party. With these security measures in place, organizers aim to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for all participants and spectators.
