In a proactive move to improve and expedite the process of relocation site and housing unit applications, Mayor Jerry P. Treñas has signed an Executive Order that implements essential safeguards and requirements. The objective is to simplify the application procedures while ensuring accurate verification through a dedicated Board. This measure will remain effective until the City Council approves an ordinance that establishes a Housing Board.
The Executive Order, a testament to Mayor Treñas’ commitment to enhancing public services, seeks to streamline the application process for citizens seeking relocation sites or housing units within Iloilo City. By implementing specific safeguards, the Mayor aims to foster a more efficient and transparent system, ultimately benefitting residents in need of housing solutions.
Key features of the Executive Order include the consolidation of applications and requirements and the reduction of unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles. The new streamlined process will save applicants time and effort, making it easier for them to access suitable housing options.
To ensure the validity and accuracy of applications, a dedicated Board will be responsible for thorough verification. This additional layer of scrutiny will contribute to the credibility and integrity of the entire application process, ensuring that housing opportunities are allocated fairly and equitably.
Mayor Treñas expressed his enthusiasm for the new measures, stating, “Our priority is to provide efficient and accessible housing solutions for the people of Iloilo City. By simplifying the application process and implementing robust verification procedures, we aim to create a more responsive and user-friendly system.”
The Mayor also emphasized the temporary nature of the Executive Order, highlighting that it will remain in effect only until the City Council approves an ordinance creating a permanent Housing Board. The forthcoming Housing Board will play a pivotal role in housing management, further refining the relocation and housing application processes to better serve the needs of the community.
With the new Executive Order in place, Mayor Jerry P. Treñas is taking concrete steps to address housing concerns and ensure the well-being of Iloilo City residents. The commitment to transparency, efficiency, and equitable distribution of housing opportunities reflects the Mayor’s dedication to the city’s progress and the welfare of its citizens.
