A recent road incident in Iloilo City involved a tricycle carrying 20 boxes of mangosteen colliding with a delivery van transporting dressed chicken, resulting in injuries to two individuals.
According to Rolando Ramos, the 43-year-old tricycle driver from Barangay Punong Lapuz, Iloilo City, the accident occurred as they were heading from the Lapuz area to the Iloilo terminal market. The delivery van, driven by Antonio Sargento, 44, from Barangay Lawigan, San Joaquin, Iloilo, was involved in the collision.
During the accident, Ramos’ companion, identified as Alyas Totong, 25, was seated on the sidecar of the tricycle and got trapped in the collision, sustaining injuries to his body.
Antonio Sargento, the van driver, reported that they were traveling from Sta Barbara, Iloilo, towards Robinsons Main in the City proper when the collision took place at the corner of Mabini and Delgado streets. The van was moving at approximately 40 kilometers per hour when the incident occurred, resulting in injuries to the victims.
