The aunt of the recipients of donations from an Ilongga in Australia has responded to the claims made by a vlogger that he did not provide the aid because she abandoned the children in her care.
According to Julie An Almodiente, it was Wilfredo ‘Pidong’ Talaron of Zarraga News Live Facebook page who initially stated that Mae Iborg had provided assistance for the burial of Almodiente’s sibling and for the needs of the orphaned children. Talaron suggested that Almodiente stop asking for help and focus on managing her finances, promising her a business, a pig, and repairs for their dilapidated house.
Almodiente had hopes for the assistance promised by the vlogger but later discovered that Talaron had not fulfilled his commitment. When she pressed Talaron again about the promised aid, he responded that it was not his responsibility to care for the children who had lost their mother.
Upon learning that the entire donation had not been given, Talaron cited that Almodiente had abandoned the children, which is why he had not provided the assistance. However, according to Almodiente, she had not abandoned her responsibilities but had to seek employment to support her dependents. Her father took custody of one child, while her aunt took another for schooling.
Almodiente emphasized that she did not abandon her dependents, as she even continued to provide for them. She clarified that they did receive some aid from Talaron, including P4,000 for the P18,000 pig purchase, a sack of rice, and grocery items worth P500, which she referred to as “just instant noodles.” She also disclosed that the children were treated to a meal at a local eatery, and the total expenses did not exceed P5,000.
Furthermore, Almodiente mentioned that a group of motorcycle riders had offered assistance to them as well as help with repairing their house. However, the vlogger Talaron reportedly blocked this assistance, stating that they could not be trusted and implying that they should be cautious. Despite this, the riders still managed to provide assistance amounting to P6,000.
