ILOILO CITY- A residential fire incident occurred at Papaya Street Ext., Phase 3, Brgy Quintin Salas, Alta Tierra, Jaro, Iloilo City, Iloilo, Region 6. The incident was reported at 8:44 am on October 17, 2023.
The fire involved two neighboring residences, one of which was a two-storey structure that was completely consumed by the flames, and the other, a one-storey building, sustained partial damage. The properties were owned by Jacinto Bacolod and Salvacion Catig. Mr. Bacolod’s residence was entirely burned down, while Ms. Catig’s property was partially damaged.
Fortunately, there were no reported fatalities in this incident. However, Rosalie Bacolod suffered a first-degree burn on her left forearm.
The fire was successfully extinguished at 9:10 am. The estimated damage caused by the fire is approximately Php 408,000.00, impacting the lives of two families residing in the affected properties.
