CALINOG ILOILO: A man has been taken into custody by the Calinog Police Station (PNP) and PDEU Team 2, following their collaborative operation. Roel Cerbolles, also known as “Maoy,” a 39-year-old resident of Barangay Canabajan in Calinog, Iloilo, now faces legal consequences for prioritizing his drug addiction over his familial responsibilities, leading to the breakdown of his family.
Cerbolles admitted that he initiated his involvement with illegal drugs at the age of 25. He expressed remorse for his actions, acknowledging the destructive impact of his addictive behavior on both his personal life and those closest to him.
Despite continuous community warnings and vigilant oversight, Alias Maoy persisted in associating with unfamiliar and potentially dangerous individuals, further deepening his involvement in the world of illegal drugs.
Alias Maoy’s history includes legal complications, including a previous implication in a rape case resulting in a woman’s pregnancy. Similarly, he was involved in another case where a relative in Janiuay became pregnant, though the matter was settled out of court through mutual agreement. In 2019, he faced attempted homicide charges stemming from a violent altercation with an individual from Passi City.
During a recent enforcement operation, law enforcement officials seized approximately 35 grams of illegal drugs from Alias Maoy, with an estimated street value of Php 315,000.00.
