The family of the late Jolean Valentin has taken decisive legal steps against Dr. Belinda Venus Dinopol, the principal of Jaro National High School, as they allege a distressing connection between Jolean’s tragic suicide and the maltreatment she endured.
Jolean, a 19-year-old helper, tragically ended her own life, and her family firmly contends that her suffering was a direct result of mistreatment inflicted by Dinopol.
On July 16, 2023, Jolean’s life was cut short within the walls of Dinopol’s residence.
In an official complaint submitted on August 4, the Valentin family asserts that the prolonged maltreatment and abuse Jolean faced at the hands of Dinopol and her family, which included coercive tactics, intimidation, and even the confiscation of Jolean’s academic records, played a pivotal role in driving her to such a devastating outcome.
Department of Education (DepEd) records indicate that Dinopol had been set to retire on August 19 of this year.
